Truthful storytelling, one design at a time…

Chasing the Spark

As an artist, my approach to life frames this question: From moment to moment, task to task, client to client, how can I use my unique perspective and skills to communicate a message as intended, personalized perspective framed in reality, and the world as it is? How do I make it compelling? In short, how do I tell the story?

Writing

When our sight dims and memories cloud, what will recall the sacred moments of our lives? Words. So make them real; make them good.

Portfolio

Photography

Portraits, still life, sports, travel—all photography offers glimpses into lives, scenes, and instants that warrant lingering long after the moment, itself, has passed. The successful capture of such a spark never fails to captivate me.

Public Relations & Event Promotion

My background in journalism has awarded an acute sense of how to interface with the press. I enjoy working this side of planning and representing events and organizations.

Design

Publication

A professional and educational focus on print journalism lent a love of all things print. The crisp feel of a fresh newspaper between my fingers, the sturdy weight of a high-quality business card, the orderly visual of a neatly justified column and perfect pica spacing. Colleagues have joked that I have “pica vision.” I love getting it just right.

Logo

Each event, organization and individual require a logo singularly capable of marrying mission and character. Some prefer stately and traditional. Others crave modern and streamlined. Still more fall somewhere in between, referencing legacy while looking forward. I relish the back and forth of draft work with my customers, the honing of each project, required to craft the perfect visual representation for all my unique clients.

Miscellaneous

Some of my favorite projects result from one-off, seemingly random endeavors. From presentation templates to microbiologically accurate cookie cutters, I love tackling challenges beyond my journalistic background and learning new skills.
